Course Objective

Course objective:

To provide training in Occupational Health and Safety Awareness for Managers, integrating H&S legislation in their day to day role.  

The course covers how to develop OHS awareness within the workplace.  Policies and procedures of which manages need to be aware, clearly outlining the role of the manager in the health and safety management of their staff.

Reference To Legislation

The training course must address the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (10/2005) and relevant Regulations and Orders made under the Act, including General Application Regulations, and subsequent updates.

Course Agenda

Safety and Health Legislation
This will include detailed insight into to various applicable legislation and will address the requirements therein.  
This will include in particular the following: 
    • Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 
    • Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 
    • Applicable Codes of Practice  
Examples of applicable case studies with regards to prosecutions under this legislation including examples where managers have been directly involved.
